Evan Jones has been named business editor of the Reading Eagle in Pennsylvania, and Lisa Scheid will take over as editor of Business Weekly.
A story on its website states, “Jones was hired as a business reporter in May 2014 and was soon promoted to assistant business editor. He will be responsible for daily production of the Eagle’s Money pages, which are published seven days a week.
“Jones grew up in Schuylkill County and attended Blue Mountain High School.
“He graduated from American University, where he worked as a sports correspondent for The Washington Post, and then began his fulltime career at his hometown newspaper, the Pottsville Republican. After stints at newspapers in Virginia and North Carolina, Jones first joined the Reading Eagle in the sports department in 2002.”
