Frank Ahrens of the Washington Post writes Friday that CNBC “Fast Money” anchor Dylan Ratigan did indeed resign from the network and will no longer appear on the air.
Ahrens writes, “CNBC gave no reason for the exit, and Melissa Lee is hosting ‘Fast Money,’ which is airing right now on CNBC. Lee will be Ratigan’s replacement at least temporarily, the network said.
“‘Dylan has told us he is leaving effective today,’ CNBC spokesman Brian Steel said in an e-mail. ‘We thank him for all his quality work.'”
Ahrens later noted, “His bio and photos were quickly removed from the Web site of the NBC Universal-owned network.
“Inside the network, Ratigan was known as talented but ‘a handful,’ said one source at CNBC, which describes a lot of TV personalities. And some don’t even have the ‘talent’ part.”
