Ramirez, formerly with TheStreet, hired by PR firm

Ruben Ramirez

Business television journalist Ruben Ramirez, previously assignment editor and head of video content at TheStreet.com, was hired by a San Francisco-based public relations firm as an account director.

Ramirez had been laid off by TheStreet earlier this year. His new employer is Bospar, which specializes in public relations for tech firms.

He will be located in New York.

Ramirez has worked at CNBC, Reuters, PBS and TheStreet. At Reuters, his team won an award for a series about the growth of frontier markets in Ghana and Nigeria, and at CNN Financial News his team received Emmy recognition for their coverage of 9/11.

At TheStreet, he tripled video views in the course of his four-year tenure, worked with the ad sales team to develop branded content opportunities for advertisers, developed social media content, and was the lead producer for Jim Cramer from the floor of the NYSE and on live video webinars for subscribers.

“I joined Bospar because I’m really excited about being able to help tell the stories of young companies that are doing interesting things with technology,” said Ramirez in a statement. “I’m also excited to stretch my skills in this new frontier of PR. It’s challenging and very gratifying.”
