Raleigh biz reporter leaves paper for WSJ Pro AI

John Murawski

John Murawski, who covered health and the business of wellness for The (Raleigh) News & Observer has left the paper.

His last day was Thursday. The News & Observer is part of the McClatchy chain that has accepted buyout offers from more than 200 staffers across the country.

On Monday, Murawski will start covering artificial intelligence for the new WSJ Pro AI, the 11th digital newsletter from The Wall Street Journal.

He has been at The News & Observer since December 2004 and once covered energy. Murawski previously worked at The Palm Beach Post, Philadelphia Inquirer and Congressional Quarterly.

Murawski holds a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and a master’s degree from Indiana University.
