Qwoted, the source-finder platform used by journalists, has hired Lou Carlozo as its first editor-in-chief.
Carlozo began his new role in mid-June and is working directly with Qwoted managing director Matthew Kneller and cofounder Dan Simon.
“We are looking to build a product supporting the media community,” Kneller said. “So we wanted to hire somebody on the editorial side to oversee our community guidelines, our standards committee and lead our community efforts on the journalism-education side and act as a resource or guide to other reporters or writers in our network.”
Carlozo is also the creator and host of The Bankadelic podcast, sponsored by the William Mills Agency.
He is also the founder, CEO, podcast consultant and music producer of Carma Productions Worldwide Studios.
Before that, Carlozo was managing editor at GovernmentCIO and also served as an investment contributor at U.S. News & World Report. He has also served as a managing editor at BAI and as a contributor at AICPA.
In addition, Carlozo was a stocks expert at About.com and also worked as a personal finance contributor at GOBankingRates.
He has also worked as a personal finance contributor at Thomson Reuters and as Chicago bureau chief at Forbes Media/True Slant.
Apart from these outlets, he has worked at AOL, Chicago Tribune, Paste Magazine and Philadelphia Inquirer.
