Longtime business journalist Kim Quillen is now a business source editor at the Chicago Tribune.
She joined the paper from the Arizona Republic, where she had been East Valley/Scottsdale editor and an assistant business editor.
“I’m involved with the editing and planning of business news, while overseeing coverage of the food industry and workplace issues in particular,” said Quillen about her new job. “I’m excited to be a part of the great team on the Chicago Tribune business desk.”
Quillen joined the Republic in early 2013 after being the business editor of the Times-Picayune in New Orleans. Quillen, a member of the Society of American Business Editors and Writers board of directors, had been the Times-Picayune’s business editor for the seven years, supervising reporters, planning the content of the daily and Sunday business pages, and coordinating coverage with other departments and bureaus. Before that, she was an assistant business editor for seven years.
She joined the Times-Picayune in 1998 after working three years at the Delaware State News. She has a bachelor’s degree from Mary Washington College and a master’s from American University.
