Francesca Donner is joining Quartz as an executive editor for “Quartz at Work,” overseeing the company’s coverage of the transformation of the modern workplace and the future of work.
She will also manage the “Quartz at Work” team and lead the development of new products and services.
Recently, Donner was at The New York Times, where she was editor for women and gender, and a founding member of the Times Gender initiative. She also edited “In Her Words,” a three-times weekly column examining politics, economics, business, and culture through a gender lens.
She also led Times Insider. Before that, she was at The Wall Street Journal, where she served as a deputy editor and then as a strategy editor.
She has also worked at Forbes, where she launched ForbesWoman, a digital vertical and magazine aimed at the issues and lives of professional and executive women.
Donner has a M.A. in journalism from Stanford University.
