Katherine Foley, a health and science reporter at financial news site Quartz, is leaving the news organization.
She has been at Quartz since January 2016 and previously interned there.
“I’ve got one final labor of love feature coming out May 9 I’m super excited to share, and then I’m off to the next chapter of my career, which I hope to be able to share soon,” she wrote on Twitter.
Foley’s coverage has been focused on Covid-19 with a focus on vaccines, supply chains, and health inequalities exacerbated by the pandemic. She has also written about genetic medicine and breakthroughs in dementia research.
Her work has also appeared in Nature Medicine, Nature Methods, The Atlantic, Motherboard, Scholastic, and OnEarth magazine. She was a 2019 Journalist in Aging Fellow, supported by the Gerontological Society of America, and she’s completed two fellowships with the Mayo Foundation.
