John McDuling, a former reporter for the Australian Financial Review based in New York, has been hired by Quartz, the business news site operated by The Atlantic.
McDuling confirmed the hire on Twitter.
McDuling had previously covered the telecommunications business and policy from the Financial Review’s Sydney newsroom.
“I’ll be covering global corporate activity — M&A, earnings and so on — across most sectors and geographies,” said McDuling in an email to Talking Biz News. “Excited to be joining such a forward thinking, innovative newsroom.”
McDuling also covered global markets for the Financial Review. He began his career in the finance industry in London, working for Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank.
He has a degree in economics from the University of Sydney.
