Quartz hires McDonnell as energy and climate reporter

Tim McDonnell has joined Quartz as its new energy and climate reporter.

McDonnell will be based in Washington.

Previously, McDonnell was with NPR where he served as deputy editor for NPR’s global health and development blog, “Goats and Soda.” Before that, he was working as a freelance journalist. His work has been published in the New York Times, NPR, National Geographic, the Washington Post, Bloomberg Businessweek, and others.

McDonnell has covered stories on the impact of climate change as well as business, energy, human rights, science, food and conflict.

McDonnell received a B.A. in English from the University of Arizona.
