Quartz’s editor-in-chief Kevin Delaney sent out the following announcement on Thursday:
I’m happy to announce that Lianna Brinded is joining Quartz as Europe News Editor starting July 26, based in London, where she will spearhead coverage of European events, and work closely with the team there to grow our European readership.
Lianna was most recently second-in-command at Business Insider UK, where she built the finance and politics teams from scratch, helped increase readership enormously, wrote frequently, and led coverage of events including Davos. She has also been a news editor at IBT UK, a senior reporter and editor for Incisive Media covering energy risk, and a producer at CNBC.
Lianna has a master’s in contemporary war and peace studies from the University of Sussex, and a bachelor’s in English and American literature from the University of Kent. She’s a roller-derby player and coach, and plays multiple musical instruments. You can follow her @LiannaBrinded.
