Quartz celebrates fourth birthday with beer, of course

Financial news site Quartz has marked the occasion of its fourth birthday by creating its own brew and design for two beers.

As a guide to the new global economy for people in business who are excited by change, Quartz’s beers reflect its culture.

It made two kinds. The Quartz Daily Brew — named for its beloved newsletter — is an Oktoberfest to fit the season.

Yellen’s Obsession is a pale ale, named for Janet Yellen, the current (and first female) chair of the Federal Reserve, and for obsessions, the Quartz response to traditional newspaper sections.

Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
