Kevin Helliker, a Pulitzer Prize winner who worked at the Wall Street Journal for 26 years, has joined Brunswick Group as an editor.

Brunswick Group is a well-known communications firm that does corporate relations.

Helliker was among those who left the paper in recent months due to its buyout offer. He had been with The Journal since August 1990 and most recently covered the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series for the first time since 1908.

He won a Pulitzer Prize for explanatory reporting, along with Thomas Burton, in 2004 for uncovering and explaining the surprising prevalence of aneurysms. Their articles are here.

Helliker wrote the series after he discovered he had an aneurysm in his aortic artery just above the heart.

He also worked for the Kansas City Times and is a University of Kansas graduate.
