Coral Garnick, a reporter at the Puget Sound Business Journal, has been promoted to associate editor of the Seattle business weekly.
Garnick previously covered health care and retail for the American City Business Journals paper, which she joined in early 2016.
In her new job, she will oversee special reports and standing features.
Garnick was born and raised in Southeast Alaska where she deckhanded for her father on his commercial fishing boat in the summers until her senior year of college at Western Washington University. After graduating, Coral joined the Peace Corps and served as a health volunteer in Honduras.
Following her service, she completed her master’s in journalism at Columbia University. She spent 2.5 years at The Seattle Times covering T-Mobile, the Port of Seattle and general assignment business reporting in the city before joining the Business Journal.
