Rob Johnson has been hired as the new managing editor of the Puget Sound Business Journal, an American City Business Journals publication in Seattle.
Johnson writes, “My journalism education has spanned 20 years and eight newsrooms in four states. Every stop along the way — large circulations and small — has played a part in making me the journalist I am today.
“My newspaper career began in Sacramento, California — where I grew up — and shifted to Southern California before moving to Colorado Springs, Colorado and Las Vegas, and along the way I have seen countless triumphs and tragedies that have shaped me as a journalist and as a person.
“In Las Vegas, I covered the horrific shooting on Oct. 1, 2017, when 58 people were killed and hundreds more were injured. Our work not only covered that senseless act of violence, it also attempted to give new life to the victims, who in so many news stories since have been relegated to little more than the number 58. I shed tears with my colleagues during that time, the most difficult of my journalism career.
“I have been fortunate to work with many great journalists, and I look forward to imparting what I have learned as I strive to be the type of editor and journalist that the Puget Sound region deserves.”
