Protocol tech reporter Megan Rose Dickey is leaving the website and will become chief content officer at Backstage Capital, which invests in what it calls “underestimated” founders.
Her last day will be Friday.
“I’ve always been drawn to telling stories that highlight diversity and have the potential to create a more equitable tech ecosystem,” she wrote on Twitter.
She has been covering artificial intelligence and diversity, equity and inclusion in the technology industry.
Dickey was previously a senior reporter at TechCrunch focused on labor, transportation, and diversity and inclusion in tech. She previously spent two years at Business Insider covering tech startups focused on the shared economy, IoT and music industry.
She graduated from the University of Southern California in 2011 with a degree in broadcast and digital journalism.
