Protocol to launch workplace coverage, hires new staff

Tech news site Protocol will be launching its new Workplace coverage on Wednesday, and it announced the staff that will run the page.

Megan Morrone is the editor of Protocol Workplace. She previously was at Medium, where she was responsible for all content on Debugger, Medium’s owned and operated gadget and consumer technology publication that launched in 2020. She previously was a podcast producer and host, and she also worked at Microsoft.

Amber Burton has been hired to cover work-related tech issues. She previously was at The Wall Street Journal as a personal finance reporter.

Allison Levitsky has been hired to cover workplace stories. She previously was a reporter at the Silicon Valley Business Journal, where she wrote about diversity and workforce issues.

Sarah Roach has been hired as a reporter/producer. She recently graduated from George Washington University, where she was editor in chief of the student newspaper.

Becca Evans has been hired as a copy editor/producer. She most recently was working on the personal website or Carrie Ann Inaba.

EdSurge co-founder Elizabeth Corcoran is joining Protocol as a contributing editor and columnist.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
