Protocol has hired The Hill’s Emily Birnbaum and Entrepreneur’s Hayden Field, who will be reporting from the Washington and New York bureaus respectively.
Before joining The Hill as a tech policy reporter, Birnbaum was a news editor at Kenyon Collegian. She also served as a communications intern at the Center for Strategic and International Studies and at Becky’s Fund.
She also held the post of an editorial intern at HOLA CULTURA and was a participant at the Politico Journalism Institute.
Birnbaum holds a bachelor’s degree in English and sociology from Kenyon College.
Field holds the post of associate editor at Entrepreneur. Previously, she was working freelance for Fortune magazine and also held the post of artificial intelligence reporting fellow for the National Press Foundation.
Apart from woking freelance for Refiney29, Field also served as a travel editor for The Daily Meal and as a multimedia news intern at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Additionally, she also held the posts of a writing intern and editor-in-chief at The Phi Beta Kappa Society and UGAzine, respectively.
In June 2013, she was an international intern for CNN.
Field is a B.A. in journalism and theater for The University of Georgia.
