Gillian Tan, who covered private equity for The Wall Street Journal, left the business newspaper late last week.
Tan says she is now pursuing other opportunities.
“After nearly four invaluable years at the Journal, I’m excited to tackle new challenges,” said Tan in an email to Talking Biz News.
Tan was a mergers and acquisitions reporter for the Journal in Australia, before coming to New York in 2013 to cover deal finance.
Tan had been a formidable M&A reporter, leading the way on a scoop on talks between Barrick Gold and Newmont Mining and talking between Valeant and Actavis and breaking news on companies closer to home for her, such as Rio Tinto and Billabong.
Tan previously worked in banking. She is a graduate of the University of Technology in Sydney with a degree in business, majoring in finance and accounting, and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Australia.
