Yahoo Finance editor in chief Aaron Task sent out the following staff announcement on Monday:

I’m pleased to announce that Aaron Pressman has joined the Yahoo Finance editorial team, effective today. Aaron will be leading our coverage of the tech sector and brings to YF a wealth of reporting experience and knowledge of the sector.

Most recently a standout correspondent for Reuters, Aaron has previously reported for Business Week, The Industry Standard, TheStreet.com and Bloomberg, among others. Aaron is a leader of the conversation among technology adherents and one of Robert Scoble’s list of recommended tech journalists and bloggers. He’s been singled out as a must-follow on Apple, consistent the #1 monthly ticker in PVs on Y! Finance.

Aaron is well known and respected in financial journalism and his expertise isn’t limited to “just” technology. He is the rare reporter with the ability to cover both breaking news in real-time do deeper investigative and thought-provoking work.

Having worked with Aaron in the past (2x, actually), I’m certain he will be a major asset to YF’s original coverage and am personally thrilled to have him on board.
