Politico reporter Maldonado set to depart

Samantha Maldonado

Samantha Maldonado, energy and environment reporter at Politico, is leaving in two weeks.

Maldonado has been with Politico for two years, and before that was a reporter, global news intern, at The Associated Press. She has also served as a City Hall editorial intern at Politico.

She has also worked as a freelance copy editor and was a freelance reporter/writer contributing to publications including City Limits, Next City, Eater, Al Jazeera English, Plan Philly, and Harvard Magazine, among others.

She was also a media intern at WNYC Radio and a breaking news intern at CNN. She has also worked as a social media marketing assistant at CUNY Graduate School of Journalism, and was a communications and production coordinator at Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation.

Maldonado is a B.A. in sociology and creative writing from Wesleyan University and a M.A. in urban reporting from CUNY Graduate School of Journalism.
