Politico has named Ximena Bustillo as its food and agriculture policy reporter.
She is also taking over as the author of the Morning Agriculture newsletter writer.
“I am thrilled for the opportunity to keep reporting on agriculture legislation, equity and more,” she wrote on Twitter.
Bustillo has been with Politico since October 2020, but she also interned at the news operation in 2020 as a trade and agriculture reporter.
She has also worked at the Idaho Statesman and the Washington Times.
Bustillo is a graduate of Boise State University.
