Politico has hired Emily Birnbaum as a reporter covering tech lobbying.
She will start April 5.
“My aim is to laser-focus on how some of the largest companies in the world are trying to get their way in Washington,” she wrote on Twitter.
For the past year, she has been at Protocol, where she has been for the past year covering tech policy. She previously was at The Hill as a tech policy reporter.
Before The Hill, Birnbaum was a news editor at Kenyon Collegian. She also served as a communications intern at the Center for Strategic and International Studies and at Becky’s Fund. She also held the post of an editorial intern at HOLA CULTURA and was a participant at the Politico Journalism Institute.
Birnbaum holds a bachelor’s degree in English and sociology from Kenyon College.
