Politico hires Levine to write the Morning Tech newsletter

Alex Levine

Politico Pro editor Marty Kady sent out the following announcement to the staff:

Morning all,

Great news on the staffing front for Pro Technology team — Alex Levine of The New York Times will be joining us to take on the Morning Tech newsletter, our daily must read briefing on technology policy.

Alex joins Politico from the Metro desk at the Times, where she spent three years at the helm of the popular New York Today newsletter and contributed stories to the National, Travel and Style sections, among others. She earned a master’s degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and a bachelor of arts in English from the University of Pennsylvania. She is also an alumna of the Fellowships at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics, a program in Germany and Poland that explores the ethics of reporting on politics, war and genocide. When not on the news beat, she can be found training for her next marathon, doing improv around New York City or ghostwriting wedding toasts under the pseudonym “The Toastess.”

Alex will take over the newsletter next month from Cristiano Lima, who has taken on a critical beat as one of Pro Tech’s Capitol Hill reporters.

Please join us in welcoming Alex to the team soon!
