Pogue named CNBC tech gadget reviewer

David Pogue, who reviews tech gadgets for The New York Times and writes a blog about them as well, will now review gadgets for CNBC, according to a release Wednesday. He begins on Thursday.

David PogueThe release stated, “‘David is a well-known and respected expert in his field, produces highly entertaining and informative videos, and we are excited he is joining the CNBC team,’ said Jonathan Wald, Senior Vice President, Business News, CNBC. ‘We always strive to stay on the pulse of innovation and David will add a new element to the network’s coverage.’

“Pogue is the personal technology columnist for The New York Times where he contributes a weekly print column, an online column and online video to the paper as well as his popular daily blog ‘Pogue’s Posts.’ He is also an Emmy award-winning tech correspondent for CBS News and a frequent guest on NPR’s ‘Morning Edition.’

“Pogue is one of the world’s bestselling ‘how-to’ authors. He wrote or co-wrote seven books in the ‘For Dummies’ series including Macs, Magic, Opera and Classical Music and, in 1999, Pogue launched his own series of funny computer books called the Missing Manual series, which now includes 60 titles.”
