Pittsburgh daily to launch standalone biz section

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette plans to launch a standalone daily business section next week, according to business editor Brian Hyslop.

The section will be a full color section Tuesday through Friday. Sunday will continue to be a stand-alone section. And on Saturdays, it will be inside the A section.

The Post-Gazette doesn’t have a Monday section because on Tuesday it is publishing a special energy supplemental section called PowerSource. That also is a stand-alone section. The Monday business section was cut in June 2008.
The business section is currently standalone only on Sundays and Thursdays now. On Tuesdays, it is inside PowerSource. The rest of the time it is inside the A section.
The Post-Gazette currently has 13 business reporters.
