The Pittsburgh Business Times has hired Luke Torrance as a digital producer.
Torrance previously worked as a reporter for Blank Slate Media, covering the Port Washington, New York, area. He wrote most of the stories that appeared in the PortWashington Times, as well as shooting most of the photos and writing the headlines for the stories in that paper.
He also covered the Nassau County government for stories featured in all Blank Slate Media papers.
Torrance is an Ohio University graduate with a major in journalism and a minor in political science.
For most of 2016, Torrance covered news and politics in Washington for the Scripps Howard Foundation Wire and The Hill.
Before going to Washington, Torrance interned for the show “Essential Pittsburgh,” airing on Pittsburgh’s NPR station, and worked as a freelance reporter for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
