Phoenix biz reporter headed to Austin

Jan Buchholz, a reporter at the Phoenix Business Journal, has accepted a position at the Austin Business Journal, which is also owned by American City Business Journals.

Buchholz writes, “That’s because I’ve accepted a position as the real estate reporter for sister publication, the Austin Business Journal, in the capital city of Texas. Make that the great state of Texas. But before I trade in my Phoenix Coyotes’ t-shirt for a Longhorns’ version, I want to say thanks. Thanks to my co-workers and especially my editors Ilana Lowery and Randi Weinstein and publisher Don Henninger. They’ve really given me the chance to explore and dig into the real estate landscape here in Valley.

“It’s been a wild, fantastic ride the past five years. And thanks to all of you who also have made being a business journalist such a blast. A lot of you know who you are … you’ve been my sources through thick and thin, and I feel fortunate to have gotten to know you. Most of you have been much more than sources, though. Many of you are trusted advisors and confidantes. I’m going to miss, y’all so much. (Have to practice that Texas twang, even in blog form!)

“Some of you have called to ask who my replacement will be and for the time being fellow reporters Mike Sunnucks and Jennifer Johnson will be filling in. They’re both veterans, so you’re in good hands.”
