Fabiola Cineas, the business editor of Philadelphia magazine, has been promoted to senior editor.
In the new role, she will oversee the launch of a new vertical that will focus on the Philadelphia region’s booming life sciences scene. The magazine is looking to hire a part-time contributor to cover stories on this beat.
Cineas has been with the magazine since June 2016.
Cineas, a graduate of Dickinson College and the University of Pennsylvania, had previously been a regular contributor to the Philadelphia Public School Notebook, where her work focused on the city’s efforts around early childhood education.
She also covered New York City schools as a freelance reporter for Chalkbeat NY. Before covering schools, she taught seventh-graders at a charter school for three years.
