The Philadelphia Business Journal has hired Michael Potter as its managing editor.
He started this week.
“I’m incredibly proud to join this talented staff in telling the stories of the people and institutions that make the Philly biz community so diverse and dynamic,” he wrote on Twitter.
For the past year, Potter was manager of the PR Institute, where he led a team of communications professionals in developing a comprehensive publication and marketing plan for nonprofit client as part of a pro bono program sponsored by the Philadelphia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.
Before that, he was a digital content director and a national desk manager for Advance newspapers.
Potter was also sports editor and deputy sports editor for Philly.com. He also worked at the Virgin Islands Daily News as a sports reporter and photographer.
