Philadelphia Biz Journal names new publisher

Sandy Smith has been named the new publisher of the Philadelphia Business Journal.

A story on its website states, “He will succeed Lyn Kremer, who retired last month after 23 years at the helm of the multiplatform media company.

“Smith comes to the Business Journal from the Washington Business Journal, where he served as director of advertising since April 2012. Both companies are owned by American City Business Journals, which operates 43 business journals across the country.

“‘Sandy is a proven leader with a great record of success in Washington,’ said Alex Orfinger, executive vice president of American City Business Journals. ‘He will be a great addition to the Philadelphia-area business community.’

“Smith has won an American City Eagle Award, the company’s highest honor, for performance.”
