Pfanner named EMEA global business ME for Bloomberg News

Eric Pfanner

Brian Bremner, global business executive editor at Bloomberg News, sent out the following announcement on Wednesday:

Hi all, Eric Pfanner, an extraordinarily talented editor and a key driver of our global pandemic and vaccine coverage, is our new EMEA Global Business Managing Editor.

This is wonderful news on so many levels. Eric brings a keen intellect, global perspective and first-class editing skills to this crucial role in the European newsroom. Since joining Bloomberg in 2016, Eric has served as an editor and team leader in Global Business, overseeing the integration of the European consumer and health teams in 2018.

Eric is a true global wanderer. He spent part of his childhood in Germany and Austria and has worked professionally in New York, Paris and Tokyo. (Eric says he speaks something resembling French and German.) His resume is gold-plated: He’s worked as a reporter and editor at the International Herald Tribune, the New York Times and Wall Street Journal.

I’m thrilled that Eric has taken on this critical role and I know he’ll bring drive, decisiveness and intelligence to our Global Business coverage and find ways to collaborate across all teams, regions and platforms in the pursuit of journalistic excellence.

We will start our search for our new European health and consumer team leader soon.

Best Regards,

Brian
