The Radio Television Digital News Association and the National Endowment for Financial Education announced Thursday the winners of the 2014 RTDNA/NEFE Award for Personal Finance Reporting.
As part of the two organizations’ ongoing efforts to encourage radio, television and online news outlets to report on personal finance issues, three winners have been chosen for their outstanding work.
They are:
Television
Laurie Cipriano, KUSA Denver. “What It Costs You To Use Cash In America”
Radio
Alisa Parenti, MarketWatch Radio Network, New York. “Housing on Fire: Tips for Buyers and Sellers”
Online
Paddy Hirsch, Marketplace AM, Los Angeles. “Marketplace Whiteboard”
Each winner receives a $1,000 cash prize and will co-present a training seminar entitled Excellence in Financial Reporting: How Award-Winning Journalists Get it Done at Excellence in Journalism 2014, the national convention of RTDNA and the Society of Professional Journalists, Sept. 4-6 in Nashville.
The winners will break down their award-winning submissions and share the key reporting tools and best practices they used to add depth to their reporting.
