Pennsylvania paper to cut daily stock listings

May 23, 2008

The Lancaster New Era newspaper in Pennsylvania said Friday that it will no longer run printed stock and mutual fund listings in the paper during the week.

Lancaster New EraThe paper stated, “Because of decreasing interest in printed stock tables and rising costs of paper, the New Era will publish stock market and mutual fund lists only in our Saturday combined edition, not in our weekday editions.

“Stocks of local interest will continue to appear Tuesday through Friday.

“Current stock and mutual fund prices, ratings and in-depth reports are available free at any time at www.lancasteronline.com. This information, compiled by Morningstar, can be found by using ‘stocks’ in a keyword search, or by going to the Web site’s business section stock page.”
