I’m happy to announce that Janet Paskin, who has a unique background in both sports writing and business news editing, will take over leadership for Bloomberg’s new sports business team.
Janet began her journalism career covering sports for the Philadelphia Inquirer, Newsday and Journal News. She won numerous national awards for her enterprise reporting and went on to write a book about the 1963 NY Mets. Janet later covered investing for Money magazine and Smartmoney. She became editor-in-chief of Smartmoney.com in 2010, and then worked as a digital editor in the Money & Investing bureau at the Wall Street Journal.
In 2012, she joined Bloomberg to run Businessweek.com. Just back from maternity leave, Janet is enthusiastic about our commitment to covering the business of sports and eager to work across Bloomberg’s teams and platforms to break news and develop smart enterprise.
Please join me in congratulating her!
Bloomberg cut at least six reporters and editors on its sports desk at the beginning of the month, but those were primarily focused on covering sports and not the business of sports.
