John Parkinson has been hired as the managing editor of NJBiz, which covers business news in New Jersey.
Parkinson joins the publication after the departure of NJBiz’s top three editors, who left to start a new publication called ROI-NJ. ROI-NJ began publishing on its website in September and in print in October.
Parkinson had most recently been digital editor for The Lynx Group, responsible for editorial, marketing, and project management.
Before that, he was clinical content coordinator for DiabetesCare.net, where he was responsible for writing articles, hiring freelance writers, editing stories, and putting together one of our weekly newsletters. During his time there, the site saw a 230 percent increase in web traffic.
He was also a managing editor with McNeill Group Inc. Parkinson is a Temple University graduate.
NJBiz is owned by GateHouse Media, which owns business publications across the country.
