Palm Beach Post biz columnist takes buyout

Palm Beach Post business columnist Linda Rawls has accepted the paper’s buyout offer.

Rawls attempted to say goodbye to readers at the end of her column Saturday, but it was cut, reports Bob Norman of the Broward-Palm Beach New Times.

Linda Rawls covered residential real estate and tourism for The Post. Her recent columns had focused on the airline industry.

She joined the newspaper in January 2000 after being editor of the Palm Beach Daily News, a sister paper she joined in 1979.

Linda graduated summa cum laude from the Southern Illinois University School of Journalism at Carbondale. She has won numerous awards from the Florida Press Club and the Florida Society of Newspaper Editors.
