Kevin Bumgarner, the former editor of the Dallas Business Journal, has been named the editor of the Pacific Business News in Honolulu.
A story on the Pacific Business News site states, “Bumgarner succeeds Jim Kelly, who left the company.
“Bumgarner has spent two decades with American City Business Journals. Most recently, he was editor of the Dallas Business Journal, which brought home a 2009 Best in Business Award from the Society of American Business Editors and Writers for General Excellence, Midsized Web sites.
“Prior to that, Bumgarner served as the founding editor of The Business Journal Serving the Greater Triad in Greensboro, N.C., for nine years.
“He began his career at the Wichita (Kan.) Business Journal, where he first worked as banking/real estate reporter, managing editor, and then editor. Later, he took an editor job in Alabama at The Huntsville Times before moving to Greensboro.”
