The Ottawa Business Journal will debut its first-ever digital-only issue for tablets, smartphones and computers in December.
A story on its website states, “The content will be themed around a 2014 retrospective, complete with a look at the biggest deals of the year, intriguing newsmakers and a business news trivia contest.
“‘It’s no surprise that tablet and smartphone use continues to explode in Canada,’ said OBJ publisher Michael Curran. ‘Groups such as comScore are reporting that almost eight million Canadians have tablets, a number that has increased by 37 per cent in the past year. And among OBJ readers, we suspect usage is much higher. People are looking for great local content. We plan to feed that demand.’
“Mr. Curran says the digital-only issue opens up all sorts of editorial possibilities, including more content, more dynamic design and wider distribution through social media channels.
“‘We expect to reach out to 50,000 or more new readers through social media channels,’ he said.”
