Elliot Njus has been named business and economy editor at The Oregonian in Portland.
Njus was previously its podcast editor since November 2019. He was also a news editor at the paper.
“I’m excited to help build on the team’s formidable work covering the COVID recession, tech, workplaces, housing and much more,” he wrote on Twitter.
Njus previously was a reporter at The Oregonian for more than nine years, leading real estate coverage during the end of the housing crash, a foreclosure crisis and a recovery that’s eroded Portland’s housing affordability. He’s also covered business, transportation, local government and breaking news.
