OLD Media Moves

Omelianuk named new editor at Inc.

Scott Omelianuk has been hired to lead Inc. magazine as its new editor in chief.

He begins his new role Jan. 6. He replaces James Ledbetter, who left in November.

Melynda Fuller of MediaPost reports, “‘Several of us interviewed him and came away impressed by his grasp of Inc.’s vast potential, both editorial and commercial, and were convinced that he could raise Inc’s profile and credibility in all the places it matters,’ wrote Schurenberg. ‘Just as important, I was struck by the deep bond he created with This Old House readers.’

“During his time at This Old House, Omelianuk transformed the brand’s image and ‘built around it a tapestry of related businesses, including digital offshoots, Spanish-language TV, lead generation, affiliate revenue, licensed products, and even a mobile game.’

“After exiting This Old House in 2016, Omelianuk became a strategic consultant for startups and also joined the board of the MIT Enterprise Forum. He teaches a class on innovation and entrepreneurship at the Stevens Institute of Technology, where he is its entrepreneur-in-residence.”
