NYT's Sorkin to syndicate radio segments beginning in July

New York Times mergers and acquisitions reporter Andrew Ross Sorkin will begin producing short radio segments called “The Business Brief with Andrew Ross Sorkin” for the U.S. Radio Network beginning July 12.

Sorkin will produce three, one-minute radio segments each day.

Andrew Ross Sorkin is truly one of the most respected journalists in financial news today,” said Nick Verbitsky of U.S. Radio Network, in a statement. “His insights are unparalleled and we’re certain that his fresh approach and intimate knowledge of business and deal-making will have a lasting impact on business reporting in American radio.”

U.S. Radio Network also distributes Bloomberg Radio and the “Lou Dobbs Financial Report.” Read more here.

Sorkin is a well-known business journalist at the Times who is also the editor of its DealBook blog and the author of the recent book, “Too Big to Fail.” In addition, Sorkin is an assistant editor of business and finance news, helping guide and shape the paper’s coverage.

Sorkin, who has appeared on NBC’s “Today” show and on “Charlie Rose” on PBS, is a frequent guest host of CNBC’s “Squawk Box.” He won a Gerald Loeb Award, the highest honor in business journalism, in 2004 for breaking news. He also won a Society of American Business Editors and Writers Award for breaking news in 2005 and again in 2006.
