NYTimes considering new tech editor

The New York Times is looking to a new technology editor to replace Suzanne Spector, according to Kara Swisher  of Re/code.

Swisher writes, “Replacements for the high-profile slot are being considered from inside the paper — reportedly one top candidate is Lydia Polgreen — as well as from outside.

“Spector is moving to the national section after what numerous insiders describe as an ouster, due in part to many defections of talent during her tenure from the section and tensions with many of those remaining. Those departures included such top names as Nick Bilton, Jenna Wortham and Claire Cain Miller, who moved to other parts of the news organization.”
