The New York Times has promoted Meghan Louttit to the post of deputy editor on the National desk. She joins from the Metro desk, where she was a deputy editor.
Louttit has been with the Times for more than 11 years, previously serving as a multimedia editor and then as deputy editor for digital news design. She has also taught at CUNY Graduate School of Journalism and was a producer working on special projects at The Washington Post.
She has also interned at the Columbus Dispatch.
Louttit has a B.S. in journalism from Ohio University.
