Kevin Draper, a sports business reporter at The New York Times, is moving to become an investigative sports reporter at the paper.
He has been at The Times since May 2017, covering the leagues, federations, owners, unions, stadiums and media companies behind the games. Prior to joining The Times, he was an editor at Deadspin, reporting on ESPN and the sports media.
Reporter David Chen will become the sports business and media reporter. Chen has been an investigative reporter on the sports desk of The Times. Before that, he worked on the Metro desk as an investigative reporter, and as bureau chief in City Hall and Trenton, among other beats.
A New Jersey native and fluent Mandarin speaker, he has degrees from Yale and Columbia, and worked in Taiwan, Hong Kong, China and the San Francisco Bay Area before joining The Times in 1995.
