NY CPAs seeking entries for financial journalism contest

The New York State Society of CPAs is holding its annual Excellence in Financial Journalism competition, which is open to all financial journalists in all mediums and in any language.

The entries will be judged on accuracy and thoroughness of research; ability to communicate an understanding of the topic; and a fair and balanced representation of the issues by the society and the New York Financial Writers Association.

Interested journalists can download the complete rules and application form from the Society website.

The entry categories are: print, television, radio, electronic media, wire services and financial blogs.

All entries made between Jan. 1, 2010 and Dec. 31, 2010 are eligible and are due by 5 p.m., Feb. 1. Only one entry per journalist will be accepted but there is no limit on the number of entries for a media outlet. Entries that are not in English are accepted but must be accompanied by an English translation.

The winners will be notified by May 1.
