National Public Radio business editor Pallavi Gogoi sent out the following message:
I am thrilled to announce that we have hired Jennifer Liberto as NPR’s Deputy Business Editor. Jen comes to us from Weekend All Things Considered, where she leads the program as its Acting Executive Producer.
She runs the show, taking care of programming, editorial assignments, writing and editing radio pieces, working with host Michel Martin and also coordinating coverage with various desks. Prior to this, Jen was senior editor and second-in-command of the weekend show. During her time working with Michel Martin, WATC has seen some of the largest audience gains in its history.
Before NPR, Jen worked at Politico as an associate editor and senior financial reporter. She also worked at CNN Money, where she covered the financial crisis from Washington. In the past, she has worked for The St. Petersburg Times, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, The Miami Herald and Mother Jones.
In her new position, Jen will report to Chief Business Editor Pallavi Gogoi.
