North Carolina paper cuts standalone business section

The Fayetteville Observer is cuttings its standalone business section on Monday through Friday.

Executive editor Mike Arnholt writes, “These changes also are driven by the need to save paper, but we intend to retain important local content and add value by more frequent use of one popular feature.

“We’re going to eliminate the free-standing Business section Monday through Friday and move Business inside Section A. The primary loss will be financial listings, but we’ll retain a half page of listings and a half-page package of financial tables. Meanwhile, we’ll add some local business content and beef up the offerings on the business page of our Web site, fayobserver.com.”
