In order to meet the changing needs of readers, the News & Observer will no longer produce a printed newspaper on Saturday, effective March 7, 2020.
Instead, the publication will launch an extended newspaper edition on Friday and Sunday. The new edition will include much of what readers got on Saturday, including comics, puzzles, TV listings, real estate, home and garden and local sports coverage.
Additionally, Saturday news will be published online on the News & Observer website and other social media platforms.
As the newspaper makes this transition, the management thanks its readers for the time, loyalty and investment that the audience puts in the newspaper.
