Savana Dunning has joined the editorial staff at the Newport Daily News as a reporter, primarily covering business and economic development as Newport County looks to recover from the pandemic.
Dunning previously interned at Austin Monitor, Houston Chronicle, KUT Public Media, the Austin Chronicle and Austin Monthly Magazine. She also worked at the Daily Texan for more than 2 years, joining as a reporter. She then held the post of associate news editor and then news editor.
Dunning earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin.
